The temporary pavilion for the Girona Film Festival redefines the relationship between place and time, establishing a new experience of entry to the festival.

The project aims to dignify the entrance and turn it into an identity-defining element of the festival, while also acting as an urban threshold between Girona’s old town and its Eixample district.

The proposal explores the idea of the absolute through a circular folly of lightweight structure, composed of four columns and a roof defined by a red curtain. This architectural gesture creates a symbolic and recognizable space that marks the access to the venue.

Standing four meters high, the folly is conceived as a habitable, oversized lamp, in dialogue with pre-existing elements of the site: the square sculpture by Jaume Plensa and the octagonal bell tower of Girona Cathedral. This relationship reinforces its connection to monumentality and the specificity of the urban context.
