The project proposes the construction of a completely horizontal roof structure for sports use with an urban topography. It is developed through different basic principles specific to the site: the study of the site conditions, such as the load-bearing stratum and the existing drainage channels; the relationship with the existing facilities and the urban environment in order to create an urban boundary within a fabric of public buildings; the definition of clear circulation routes for different users and uses; the necessary functionality of a multipurpose building, suitable both for sports activities and cultural events; the construction of a public building that is easy to execute through a sustainable and cost-effective solution; and the use of the site’s own resources to achieve a nearly zero-energy consumption building.
