THREE PATIOS HOUSE
House with three patios in Breda
The plot is located in a low-density residential area
where terraced houses with rear gardens predominate. The site had a gentle and
continuous slope, with excellent sunlight exposure throughout the day. Urban
planning regulations allowed for more buildable area than required, making it
possible to construct a ground floor plus one upper floor in the front section,
finished with a pitched roof, and a ground floor with a flat roof in the rear
section.
With a depth of 15 metres, the house is organised on a single level around three courtyards, each with its own geography, function, and microclimate.
The first courtyard serves as the entrance and acts as a filter between the street and the house.
The second courtyard functions as the nerve centre of the house, bringing natural light into the bedrooms and enabling cross ventilation in the living area.
The third courtyard is conceived as a space for gathering and relaxation. Through it, the house opens towards the landscape of Montseny.
