The layout of Girona’s old quarter is irregular, narrow, and dark. Light barely manages to enter the streets, which are the main protagonists. We find ourselves at the floral festival in the city of Girona, where the city is dressed for celebration. We have been commissioned to intervene in one of the city’s most important and central stepped streets: Carrer d’en Manuel Cúndaro.

At no point do we want to lose the essence of the street, defined by its unifying material — Girona stone — and by its form: the staircase. We enhance its identity by giving it a roof, a roof that gathers the light, filters it, and guides it toward the two newly opened courtyards filled with flowers.
