Based on a strategy of inserting an element that activates the whole ensemble, the project restores the main building of Hostalric Castle and its surroundings. It preserves, restores, and enhances the different architectural, historical, and cultural elements, as well as the heritage value of Hostalric Castle, removing those elements that are not connected to the castle complex.

The project is resolved through a clear operation: a series of thick concrete walls and masses accommodate the circulation within the castle. In this way, the intervention does not compete with the castle or its heritage value. It is a surgical intervention that respects the volumetry of both the interior spaces and the exterior.
