Casa Rahola Berga occupies a privileged position in Plaça Catalunya in Roses, opening on one side to the seafront promenade and on the other to a small domestic rear courtyard. This condition establishes a transition between the representative character of the promenade and the intimacy of a garden by the sea, which is considered essential to preserve and enhance.

The new use as a municipal archive must combine technical work with public access, incorporating spaces for exhibitions and events. The proposal takes advantage of this dual scale of the building to accommodate simultaneous functions of documentation, dissemination, and representation.

The heritage values of the building are acknowledged, both exterior and interior, and are integrated and protected within the new intervention.

Three main operations are proposed: a compact archive storage in the basement, a multipurpose hall at the end of the courtyard connecting with the existing building, and a setback viewpoint room on the second floor with views over the sea and the promenade.
